Assessment of Iron Status and the End- Product of Lipid Peoxidation in Ischemic Heart Disease in Male Patients

Objective:In the present study, an attempt is carried out to estimate the degree of iron overload in IHD patients in addition to the measurement of lipid peroxidation end product, malondialdehyde (MDA). The level of these compounds will indicate the risk of tissue damage caused by oxidative stress and iron overload.

Methodes: Sixty eight patients with ischemic heart diseases including stable angina (AS), unstable angina (UA) and myocardial infarction (MI) (aged 40-60 years) were involved in the present study during their admission to Al- Sader Teaching Hospital / Al- Najaf Al- Ashraf. Age matched twenty two healthy men were included as control group. All blood samples were taken early morning from fasting subjects.
Serum levels of iron and total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) were measured spectrophotometrically while unsaturated iron-binding capacity (UIBC), estimated total iron body stores (ETIBS), transferrrin saturation percentage (TS%) and transferrin concentration were calculated mathematically. Serum ferritin and MDA were measured using ELISA technique.
Results: Results of the present study in general revealed that there is a mild state of iron overload in IHD patients in comparing with healthy control. The results of iron status showed significant increase (P<0.05) in all iron indices of IHD patients in comparing with healthy control group except TIBC and UIBC, which decrease significantly (P<0.05) in those patients in comparing with control group. Moreover, a significant (P<0.05) increase in serum ferritin and ETIBS was found in IHD patients compared with control group. Serum MDA is increased significantly in IHD patients as compared with control group.

Conclusions: From the present study, it can be concluded that, iron status parameters showed be uses as a useful routine measures in IHD patients and iron stores in patients reveal a possible role of iron overload in the development of coronary atherosclerosis. MDA elevation in IHD patients indicating a possible role of oxidative stress processes in the pathophysiology of the heart diseases. Smoking has adverse effects on MDA and iron status leading, among many other known causes, to increase IHD risk.

Changes in cellular membrane tolerance due to heat stress during Triticum sativum L. seeds germination

Heat stress due to increased temperature is an agricultural problem in many areas in the world. The objective of this study was to examine changes in seed germination characters, cell membrane stability, lipid peroxidation level and electrolyte leakage in germinated seeds exposed to heat stress. Seed germination, co-efficient of germination and germination vigor index asignificant decreased (due to high temperature) is compared to control (untreated seeds). The MDA a signficant increased, whereas the protein content asignficant decreased due to high temprature. Heat stress a signficant increased proline content. Electrolytes level (as indicator on perturbation of membrane permeability) a signficant increased with exposure period increase to high temperature.

Dissmination of TEM and SHV Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases in Clinical Isolates of Escherichia coli.

Purpose: To examine the dissemination of blaTEM and blaSHV genes in Escherichia coli isolate from patients with significant bacteriuria.
Methods: During the study period, antibiotic susceptibility patterns were studied in a total of 38 isolates of E. coli. The isolates were also examined to determining the presence of blaTEM and blaSHV genes by PCR assay. Conjugation experiments were performed by using rifampicin resistance E. coli MM294 as the recipient.
Results: All isolates were resistance to at least five of the antibiotics tested (multidrug resistance, MDR) and sensitive to imipenem. PCR assay revealed that 57.1% and 14.3% of the isolates carried blaTEM and blaSHV genes, respectively, additionally 9.5% of the isolates harbored both genes. Conjugation experiments and PCR trials confirmed that the blaTEM positive E. coli isolates tested were able to transfer thisgene in transconjugants.
Conclusions: There was a high occurrence of MDR isolates in patients with significant bacteriuria and the blaTEM gene was common among isolates

PCR detection of rmpA gene among Klebsiella isolated from wound and burn infections

One hundred and twenty five Gram-negative-lactose fermented bacteria grown on MacConkey agar were collected from burn and, wound infections, in Al- sadar Medical City in Al- Najaf province. The bacterial isolates were identified according to cultural characteristics ,the results revealed that 40(32%) isolates were identified as Klebsiella spp, all of them 40(100%) isolates were belong to K. pneumonia subsp. pneumonia .The capsule of klebsiella isolates were tested .the result revealed all Klebsiella isolates40(100%) were capsulated ,the gene coding capsule in isolates gave positive results. Genotypically were studied carefully using PCR technique , the results pointed out that 35 (87.5%) of bacterial isolated have rmpA gene coding for producing polysaccharide capsule .

Molecular study of some virulence factors encoding genes of Enterobacter spp. Isolated from different clinical specimens

The study aimed to isolation and identification of Enterobacter spp. from different clinical infections ,as well as virulence factors encoding gene were detected by PCR.The clinical specimens (100) were collected from patients suffering from different infectious from various hospitals of Najaf during the period from February 2011 to June 2012. Enterobacter isolates which were diagnosed according cultural and biochemical tests as well as API 20E .
Eighty four isolates of Enterobacter were collected, from different samples which distributed in two species of Enterobacter , E.cloacae (89.3%) and E.sakazakii (10.7 %) . The results showed that all isolates were produced of siderophore , and most isolates were capsule formation , but give negative result for haemolysin and protease . Also, 80 (95%) of Enterobacter has the CFA / III and 15(18 %) of isolates are bacteriocin production.
The results showed that 26 (31%) of isolates were had rpoS gene , and these isolates were more resistance to stress conditions which lack the gene . The resistance was high in stationary phase than that in log phase. The result showed that all isolates were contained nitroreductase gene, but not had shiga like toxin gene.

Molecular Study on Distrbution of Sul-1 and Sul-2 genes among Salmonella enterica causing Enteric Fever

This study comprised 200 blood samples taken from patients visited some of Al-Najaf province. The most prevalent species was Salmonella Typhi, where 20 isolates had been identified. Serological typing was done by using both poly and monovalent antisera, which revealed that all isolated Salmonella was belong to serovar Typhi. DNA was extracted from all Salmonella Typhi isolates. Extracted DNA was used in Polymerase Chain Reaction technique. Three pairs of primers was used to detect the presence of targeted genes (two for sul-1 gene, and one for sul-2) . Data showed the occurrence of sul-1 gene the first sequence in 15% of total , while second sequence gave no positive result. Sul-2 gene on the other hand , showed 50% positivity.

PCR Based identification of Culex pipiens complex (Diptera: Culicidae) collected in Al-Najaf governorate

Total genomic DNA was extracted from the whole mosquitoes according to the manufacturer’s modified insect DNA extraction protocol. The amplification of the acetylcholinesterase-2 (ace-2) locus by specific primer in a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and the flanking region of the CQ11 microsatellite methods were successfully employed to detect the genetic variation between Cx. pipiens complex mosquitoes, PCR technique was applied on 200 individually adults Cx. pipiens complex mosquitoes collected from underground and aboveground of breeding sites from Najaf governorate using diagnostic primer sets for Cx. quinquefasciatus, Cx. pipiens and Cx. molestus. The Agarose gel Electrophoresis results of PCR assay were revealed that Cx. quinquefasciatus species was distributed at percentage reached 68% followed by Cx. molestus at percentage 24% and 1.33 % for Cx. pipiens. Hybrids between Cx. quinquefasciatus and Cx. pipiens were 5.33% whereas hybrids between Cx. pipiens and Cx. molestus were limited. One of the important results of the present study was that the molecular analysis and by this technique can be detected levels the degree of hybridization between close related species for Cx. pipiens complex. The results based on PCR revealed that Cx. molestus species was most abundant than Cx. pipiens and specimens of Cx. molestus were obtained commonly from underground and rarely from aboveground.

Occurrence and Detection of Carbapenemase-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae Clinical Isolates in Najaf Hospitals

Resistance to carbapenems is emerging, and it is a great problem to therapeutics. Carbapenemase producing Klebsiella pneumoniae have been reported to be important cause of nosocomial infections. There is no information available on carbapenemase producing K. pneumoniae from Najaf. The purpose of this study was undertaken to determine the occurrence of carbapenmase including metallo β-lactamases (MBLS), Klebsiella pnuemoniae carbapenemase (KPC) and GES-β-lactamase producing K. pneumoniae. A total of 770 clinical samples were collected from April to July, 2010. The K. pneumoniae isolates were identified according to API 20E system. Phenotypic detection of carbapenemase was performed by using the imipenem-EDTA disk method and confirmed by the modified Hodg test. KPC was detected on KPC CHROMagar medium. The isolates were subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays with specific primers for blaIMP, blaVIM blaKPC. blaCTX-M and blaAmpC. Only 108 (14.%) K. pneumoniae isolates were recovered from clinical infections. only 95 (88%) isolates were β-lactam resistant (resistant to both ampicillin and amoxicillin). Of the β-lactam resistant isolates, 4/95 (4.2%) were found to be carbapenem disk resistant, of which,2 (50%) gave positive result with the imipenem-EDTA test, 4 (100%) gave positive result with modefied Hodg test and all isolates (100%) gave heavy growth on KPC CHROMagar. In PCR experiments using specific primers for blaIMP, blaVIM and blaKPC genes, the results were negative among all isolates. All isolate were harbored blaCTX-M and blaAmpC genes. The present findings suggest that the spread of carbapenemases in isolates is high in Najaf.

Preparation and Characterization of complexes VO(IV) and Cu(II) with the new ligand (1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-diylidene-bis(hydrazine-2,1-iylidene))bis (methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)diphenol (DEDHIMD) and study biological activaty

The new ligand of (1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-diylidene-bis(hydrazine-2,1-iylidene))bis (methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)diphenol (DEDHIMD)، has been prepared by reacting Salicyladehyde with Benzil dihydrazone (prepared from benzil with hydrazine in ethanol) in ethanol. This Ligand has been Identified by Using 1HNMR، UV-Vis.& FTIR Spectra. We have also prepared chelate complex by reacting this ligand with metal ions VO(IV) and Cu(II).The preparation has been conducted after fixing the optimum conditions of concentration. U.V-Vis. spectra of the complexes solution of the above metal ions with the ligand (DEDHIMD) have been studied for a range of concentrations which obey Lampert-Beers Law. The structure of complex are deduced according to mole ratio method which was obtained from the spectroscopic studies of the complex solution. The ratio of metal: ligand obtained is (1:1) to the complexes ions. The (UV -Vis) absorption spectrum of complex in ethanol solution showed chromic shift، as compared with that of free ligand. The infrared spectra of the chelating complex have been studied، they were also compared with the ligand spectrum، they showed obvious changes in the band positions، some of them has been disappeared while others are shifted، this may indicate that a coordination between the metal ions and our ligand takes place. The conductivity measurements of our complexes have not shown that ionic character. Depending on these results، in addition to the measurements of magnetic susceptibility of our complexes it seems of these complexes are paramagnetic. We can conclude that the proposed geometrical structures of the complexes of VO(IV) and Cu(II) ions are octahedral. The determination of the biological activity of complexes were carried out on Pseudomonas averuginose, Serratia fonticola and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Preparation new ligands containing nitrogen and spectrophotometric study with Rhenium complexes.

The preparation of two new ligands containing nitrogen atoms as chelates from Mannich reaction was described in this work. Using formyl aminophenols as the compound containing the active proton center, glycine as the amine, and paraformaldehyde as the aldehyde performed the reaction. The method was successful and was very promising to design ligand of various molecular structures. These ligands were capable to coordinate to rhenium metal by ligands exchange methods.
These compounds were studied spectrophotometrically,so as their complexes with rhenium by using infrared and U.V-vis absorption spectroscopy,as well as the other classical techniques such as microanalysis and molecular weight determination by depression of freezing point. The following chemical structure for preparation ligands.

Some aspects of immune response to lipopolysaccharides of Providencia rettgeri

LPS of P.rettgeri was extracted and purified in our previous study, the present study found that the injection of 150μg/ Kg of LPS (intramuscularly and subcutaneously) was able to stimulate humoral immune response at both systemic and mucosal levels which was detected by passive haemmaglutination test and the mean values of systemic antibody titer (6826.6) was higher than the mucosal (at appendix) antibody titer (512). Some cytokines concentrations such as IL-2 ,IL-4,IL-6 and IL-1ß were detected using ELISA kits. The study was observed that, the concentrations of IL-2 (3.21 pg/ml ) , IL-4(5.84 pg/ml ) and IL-6 (4831 pg/ml) were increased significantly in LPS immunized animals group compared with control group which were 2.05 , 2.34 and 3121.06 pg/ml for IL-2,IL-4 and IL-6 respectively, while the concentration of IL-1ß (115.7 pg/ml ) was decreased significantly in LPS immunized animal group than control group which was 177.24 pg/ml.

Uremia is a state manifested by impaired kidney function with the consequences of accumulation of harmful toxins and waste products. In end-stage renal disease, atherosclerosis cardiovascular disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. In the present studies included the measurement of serum trace elements Zinc (Zn), Cupper (Cu) in (78) patients aged 16-77 year. They were classified into two main groups according to the type of treatment
1- End-stage renal disease patients on hemodialysis treatment (n=52, age range 16-76 years).
A) Hemodialysis patients with diabetes mellitus (n=20, age range 23-75 years).
B) Hemodialysis patients without diabetes mellitus (n=32, age range 16-67 years).
2- End-stage renal disease patients on conservative treatment (n=26, age range 20-77 years).
The result was compared with those of 25 healthy control groups (age range 16-70 years).The result showed that serum Cu was significantly deceased in patients on hemodialysis treatment but there was a significant increase in patients on conservative treatment. Serum Zn was significantly reduced in all patients studied, however, Cu/Zn ratio was reduced in all chronic renal failure patients on different treatment modalities ;indicating the influence of renal failure and its treatment on Cu/Zn status. In conclusion; chronic renal failure patients on different modalities of treatment experienced altered Cu, Zn status. The different mechanisms underlying these changes are mentioned.

1,2:5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene (2) as starting material have been synthesized by the reaction of D-glucose with dry acetone in presence of Zncl2/H3Po3.3-ullos derived (3) was prepared by oxidation of (2) with DMSO/Ac2O. Hydrolysis of (2) and (3) by 60% Ac2O gave the corresponding derivateivies 1,2-O- isopropytidene –α – D -glucofuranose (L1) and 1,2-isoproplyene-α-D-ribohexafuranose-3-ulos(LΠ). Coordination chemistry of L1and LΠ with Co(Π), Cu(Π), Ni(Π), Pd(Π) and Pt(ІV) ions were studied. The two ligands were characterized depending upon CHN analyses, Ή NMR and FTIR. Structure of metal complexes were proposed depending on atomic absorption, CHN, Thermal analyses (TG & DTG), FTIR spectra, uv-vis and chloride contents, magnetic moments (meft) as well as conductivity measurements. From the spectral measurements, monomer structures for the complexes were proposed. The newly metal complexes were subjected to in vitro testing agains pathogenic microorganisms.

Study of Activin A and Inhibin A Hormones levels in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and their Correlation with Other Biochemical Parameters

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is very common endocrinological disorder in premenapusal women. Activin and inhibin are two closely related protein complexes that have almost directly opposite biological effects. Activin enhances FSH biosynthesis and secretion, and participates in the regulation of the menstrual cycle. Many other functions have been found to be exerted by activin, including roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis (8)metabolism, homeostasis, immune response, wound repair and endocrinefunction. Activin and Inhibin are produced in the gonads, pituitary gland, placenta, and other organs.
The results of the present study showed that serum Inhibin A level is low in PCOS, while no difference in the level of serum Activin A in PCOS patients in comparing with control group. The results of the present study showed that serum Inhibin A was negatively correlated with age,and Directly correlated with serum Testosterone and E2. Activin A level in PCOS women showed a significant Positive correlation with LH and LH/FSH ratio

The relationship between environmental variables and Bacterial community of Al-Kufa River sediments

There is no any study about the sediment quality and bacterial composition in Al-Kufa River, so this study comes to investigation the correlation between the sediment quality and bacterial composition.
Four stations were chosen to sediments collection, for Jun, Aug (Summer 2011), Oct, and Dec (winter 2011). Profiles of bacterial communities were generated using different culture media, and the results were interpreted with multivariate statistical analysis. Findings suggested that microbial communities varied with sample collection sites and seasons. The samples collected from the same sample sites at the same time had more similar microbial communities except the samples of station 3 and 4, which also had unique sediment quality. Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) revealed that the organic carbon concentration of the sediments accounted for a significant amount of the variability in the bacterial community composition.

The Effect of Iron Overload on the Function of Some Endocrine Glands in β-Thalassemia Major Patients.

Thalassemia is a term that refers to a group of genetic disorders characterized by a defect in the synthesis of hemoglobin. It is sometimes called Mediterranean anemia. Many biochemical changes in the blood accompany this disease. In this research, some biochemical parameters were measured in thalassemic patients and compared with healthy control group. These parameters include Serum iron, TIBC, were measured Spectrophotometrically. Serum ferritin, Iisulin, GH, Testosterone, T3, T4, TSH, Cortisol, & Prolactine were measured by ELISA technique.
The results have revealed a moderate state of iron overload in the thalassemia patients. Furthermore, there is a decrease in the level of serum cortisol, T4, prolactine and pancreatic beta cell function percentage (HOMA%B) in thalassemic while serum TSH level is higher in thalassemic patients in comparing with control group. The changes in the hormone levels in addition to serum insulin, insulin/glucose ratio, and HOMA%B are correlated well with the degree of iron store in the body, concluded mainly from high ferritin level.Insulin resistance parameters showed a significant negative relation with Insulin sensitivity index. There are significant increases in PCV, Hb, T3, and testosterone in male patients in comparing with female thalassemic patients.
From the results of the present study, it can be concluded that iron overload state affects some endocrine glands secretions and there is a difference in the effects between male and females in prepubertal thalassemic patients. Therefore, it is important to estimate the endocrine function activity of thalassemia patients and treat the disorders if present as soon as possible.

Effect of propolis in diet supplementation on the histopathological changes in some organs and challenge tests against Newcastle disease in broiler chicks.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary supplementation with propolis on histopathological changes of some tissue and challenge tests against Newcastle disease virus at 21 and 42 day old chicks .
One hundred and eighty Ross broiler chicks were used in day - old they were divided randomly to six groups (30 birds/group), feed and drinking water offered ad libitum and experimental groups were treated as follows :
The first four groups received (0.5 , 1 , 2 ,3 ) g propolis/kg in feed respectively, the five group served as positive control received basal diet without propolis but vaccinated and group six served as negative control received basal diet without propolis and non vaccinated.
Histopathological changes in bursa of Fabricius showed normal histology with mild condense proliferation of lymphocyte in the cortex at the G4 as compared with other groups which did not show any pathological lesions. Histopathological changes in the liver of G 4 showed mono nuclear cell aggregation in liver pranchyma and promenance of kupffer's cells as compared with other groups (G1,G2,G3,G5 and G6)which showed normal tissue. The microscopical examination of the spleen , kidney and thymus showed no histopathological alteration in all the groups.The challenge test showed that the total mortality was zero in group 4 and 3 and low in groups 1 and 2 as compared with groups 5 and 6.

Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC), free Iron , Ceruloplasmin,Transferrin and ferritin concentration, in pregnant women with pre-eclampsia

Preeclampsia is one of the most important complications of pregnancy that is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The evidence of increased oxidative stress due to endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia has been well established. The increased oxidative stress is catalyzed in the presence of free transitional metals. Therefore, the relationship of iron status with preeclampsia was under investigation. The objective of the study was to compare Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC), Iron ,ceruloplasmin,Transferrin and ferritin concentration, in pre-eclamptic and healthy pregnant women, and to investigation the relation between these factors and preeclampsia.
Method:Blood samples were collected from 40 pregnant women diagnosed as preeclampsia and 30 normal pregnant females at the hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology between February 2012 and January 2013. We recorded TIBC count, Iron concentration, serumceruloplasmin, ferritinand Transferrin levels in both groups.
Result: Mean serum iron in preeclamptic group was 97.0 ± 7.83, while 94.35± 11.81in normal group (p≤0.01). Similarly, mean serum TIBC concentration in normal pregnant and preeclamptic women were 319.65± 32.35 and 292.3 ±30.86, respectively (p≤0.01). The mean serum ferritin was 0.33± 0.056 in preeclamptic women and in normal pregnant women was0.29±0.039,significant differences were found among ceruloplasminconcentration in both groups, while the mean Transferrin in preeclamptic and in normal pregnant women were 204.61 ± 21.60584 and 223.75 ± 22.64877, respectively.
In conclusion, ischemic placental tissue may be a primary source of potentially toxic iron in preeclampsia and the released iron species may contribute to the etiology and endothelial cell injury, which may be abated by antioxidant supplementation.

The study was carried out on thirty women and males patients with coronary heart diseases at age (35-70) year old , in the Al-Sader medical city / Al Najaf . the present study was involved blood parameter such as ( Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate ) and hemoglobin beside the biochemical analysis was done such as cholesterol and triglycerides measurement, also the liver enzymes (GPT and GOT ) level was estimated.
Our result was revealed , the increasing in (E.S.R) of males patients (33.3% when compared with (E.S.R) in females which decline into (23.3%),while percent of the (Hb) decrease in female patients more than in the males patients ,were (36.3% , 33.3%) at respectively . the biochemical analysis was appeared elevation of the triglycerides percent in woman patients with cardiac diseases when compared with men patients , the percent was (43.4% , 36.6%) at respectively . from other hand the percentage of cholesterol in some patients men with cardiac disease was (10%) ,while the cholesterol percent in some women patient not significant differences.
The present study was noticed increasing in the liver enzymes (GPT) of patients women when compared with patient men were (20%. 13.3%) at respectively.

Effect of hyperlipidemia in the atherosclerotic patients on sex hormones

The current study was designed to explain the relationship of testosterone and estradiol levels with the serum lipid profile alteration . It has included the measurement of serum testosterone and estradiol levels in healthy subjects (40 males and 43 post – menopausal females) , atherosclerotics male (40) and post – menopausal (41) atherosclerotic females . Serum triglyceride , cholesterol , HDL- cholesterol , LDL- cholesterol and VLDL- cholesterol were also estimated in those individuals . The results revealed significant (p < 0.05) elevation of serum estradiol level in atheroselerotic males when compared with those of the control group,Estradiol also was found decreased significantly (p <0.05) when testosterone levels indicated a significant (p < 0.05) in atherosclerotic post-menopausal female when compared with control group . The results identified the details of serum lipid profile changes in conditions of different levels of sex steroids .

Serum calcium level and some physiological markers during Pre-eclampsia and normal pregnancy in Babylon province women

Background: preeclampsia (PE)is a pregnancy – related hypertensive disorder occurring in the second half of the pregnancy. The calcium mineral has been proposed to play important role in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
Subjects and methods: The data was collected from 50 normal pregnant women,35 mild preeclamptic women and 30 severe preeclamptic women who were admitted in the Babylon maternity and pediatric teaching hospital between February 2012 and December 2012.The blood samples were collected and analyzed for serum total calcium, serum ionized calcium, serum albumin, The data on body mass index (BMI),a maternal and gestational ages, blood pressure (BP) values were collected and the data were analyzed using analysis of variances (ANOVA).
Results: The (BMI) and (BP) values in the preeclamptic women were significantly higher than those of individuals with normal pregnancy(p<0.001),the serum total calcium(Ca) and serum albumin(Alb) levels were highly significant lower in hypertensive pregnant in comparison with healthy ones(p<0.001),while ionized calcium levels had no significant difference between mild preeclamptic women(p>0.05) as comparison with normal pregnancy, but were significant lower(p<0.05) in the severe preeclamptic women as compared with control and mild preeclamptic groups.
Conclusion: single estimation of total and ionized calcium, and serum albumin levels late in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy have a little value in the prediction of preeclampsia when the disease process was usually manifest, our study is recommended to properly performed not just these biochemical markers, additionally we must investigated the related vitamins that may be contribute in this disorder, and these tests must be early analyzed in pregnancy for prediction of the subsequent development of preeclampsia.

Effect of spraying Grofalcs and Wilt– Pruf on quality characters of fruits local trees pomegranate

The experiment was conducted on private orchard at AL-Kfel /Babylon on 30/6/2011 on local trees pomegranate 9 years old to investigate the effect of two concentration of Grofalcs (200 and 300) mg/L and Wilt – Pruf (2 and 4)% and combination treatment between them on quality characters of fruits in the stage of maturation .The result indicated that Grofalcs produced increasing significant in the moisture peels , pulp, juice percentage and reducing the cracking, T.S.S, acidity, anthocyanine and vitamin C in juice during fruits ripening. Castor oil was more effective than Grofalcs in that respect but the combination of Grofalcs and Wilt – Pruf were more active compared than single treatments, the treatment (Grofalcs 300 mg/L+ Wilt – Pruf 4%) gave the best results from others.

تضمنت هذه الدراسة تقييم كفاءة حامض الإسكوربيك في حماية محصول الحنطة من الإصابة بالفطر Aspergillus flavus المعزول من عدة عينات من الحنطة ، حيث تضمنت الدراسة تجربتين الأولى إستخدام الوسط الزرعي بخلطه مع حامض الاسكوربيك بعدة تراكيز كلاً على حدة ومعاملتها بالفطر لمعرفة نسبة تثبيط الفطر بحامض الإسكوربيك . بينما تضمنت التجربة الثانية ثلاث مجاميع(المجموعة الاولى تضمنت معاملة بذور الحنطة بحامض الاسكوربيك فقط ،اما المجموعة الثانية فتم معاملة البذور بالفطر مع حامض الاسكوربيك والمجموعة الاخيرة تم معاملة البذور بالفطر فقط).
وأشارت النتائج إلى أن 0.5 غم / لتر من حامض الاسكوربيك الممزوج مع الوسط الزرعي بطريقة )الخلط مع الوسط ) أعطى نسبة تثبيط للفطر المذكور أعلاه بلغت 100 % في حين وصلت نسبة التثبيط عند التركيز 0.01 غم / لتر إلى 74% في الوسط الزرعي ، حيث أن إستخدام التراكيز العالية المستخدمة من حامض الاسكوربيك أعطت اعلى نسبة تثبيط. وبينت نتائج التجربة الخزنية لمحصول الحنطة أن البذور الخالية من الأضرار والمعاملة بحامض الإسكوربيك مع لقاح الفطر بلغت نسبة الإصابة 24 % مقارنة مع البذور الملوثة بلقاح الفطر A. flavus فبلغت نسبة الإصابة 89% .وقد انخفضت نسبة الإصابة الى %20 عند إستخدام حامض الإسكوربيك لوحده، وهذا يدل على إن إستخدام حامض الإسكوربيك وفر حماية لمحصول الحنطة من الإصابة بالفطر وبنسبة عالية .

Evaluate the effectiveness of some derivatives of 4 - amino Ante Baiaran azo as anti-life on some types of Pathogenic bacteria

This study involved the preparation of some compounds 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo and to test their ability as anti life against some types of bacteria, these compounds prepared included 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo resorcinol and 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo hydroquinone and 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo 2 - Bromovanol has been test the efficacy of these compounds against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria isolated from skin infections and Ecoli bacteria isolated from urinary tract infections and bacteria Pseudomonas aeroginosa isolated from burns.
        The study results showed that the compound 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo resorcinol gave the highest effectiveness against bacteria of Pseudomonas aeroginosa The bacteria Ecoli were less sensitive to the compound , while not affected by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus boat at all , but for the compound the other 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo hydroquinone has been given the highest impact bacteria Pseudomonas aeroginosa while the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and bacteria Ecoli were less sensitive to the compound , while for compound III 4 - Amino Ante Baiaran Lazo 2 - Bromovanol , the results showed that the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus were more sensitivity to the compound while the types Baktirin other (Pseudomonas aeroginosa and Ecoli ) were less sensitivity to the compound .

The study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of aqueous extracts of the Sidr Ziziphus spp and Nerium oleander Nerium spp and Elias Myrthus commuis and olive Olea sp on the larvae of Musca domestica The study showed that there are significant differences for the destruction of the larvae, where the proportion of mortality after 48 hours have scored plant oleander highest when the focus was 5 %% where 76% extract Elias scored the lowest with 50.77% followed by the lotus plant to plant olive and 66.11 by 69.44%. As at 24 hours was the plant oleander highest impact rate of 71.55 while the plant Elias lower rate ranged from 45.88%, followed by plant lotus by 58.77% and plant olive 62.44% as more than the aqueous extract of Defla in the events of the highest rate of mortality where the ratio was at over 42 hours 61.77% and the least 25.88% by Elias at the passage of 48 hours oleander scored the highest percentage range and the least 70.88% 42.33% by Elias

Using Dry Aggregate Stability as Indicator to The Desertification In Batah Region, Thi-Qar Province

this research was conducted through three stations affected by different degrees of desertification. for the period Nov., 2007 to Sep.,2008, The aim of this research was to develop simple and accurate method for assessment the status of desertification in arid zone of lower Mesopotamian plain , to develop simple and accurate method for assessment the status of desertification in arid zone of lower Mesopotamian plain , including monthly measurements of dry aggregate stability (AS) expressing by geometric mean diameter (GMD) and weight mean diameter (MWD),
The results showed the light desertified was significantly superior with values of geometric mean diameter (GMD) equal to (0.779)mm. The highest value of geometric mean diameter (0.802) mm was found in February, while the lowest values of geometric mean diameter was found in July (0.500) mm . Similarly, the weight mean diameter was significant difference among these sites . The geometric mean diameter was positively correlated with Organic matter content (0.84), weight mean diameter (0.95), total porosity (0.97), Dry Aggregate of Soil greater than 1mm (0.79) and soil moisture (0.89) ,whereas the geometric mean diameter was negatively correlated with dry bulk density (─ 0.89) and rate of soil loss (─ 0.78). In generally, The results showed the effect of soil structure on different degrees of desertification is more related of (GMD) than (MWD),

Effect of Ethyl Acetate extract of Eruca Sativa seeds plant in the reproductive system of males albino mice

The study was performed knowing the effect of effect of Ethyl acetate extract of seeds of (Eruca sativa) plant on the Fertility of male Albino mice . used swiss albino mice (Balb/c). and the males were divided to three groups and it was 10 animals to each group . the first group it’s the control. The second ,third groups Administrated with two of eruca sativa extract doses
(o.25 and o.5 ml/kg) respectively three times/ week (day after day) for 6 weeks. The treatment with the extract of eruca sativa in the Normal Males Led to : A significant increase in the total body weight And a significant increase were happened in weight of reproductive organs (testis and epidydimus) for all Extract Concentrations. and the (0.5) ml/kg concentration was more Significant than the other concentration . significant increase in the total Sperms count, Asignificont increases in the number of (Spermatogonia , Spermatocytes, Spermatids, Spermatozoa).
