Immunological study for toxoplasmoses between womens of Al-Dewanya city

One hundred fifty- two blood sample were collected from the women attending hospital of the children and maternity of AL-Diwania city. These women either born congenital abnormal infants who were died immediately after parturition ,the dead children with psychopathy. The test of Toxo-Latex showed that the percentage of infection in the women attending hospital of the children and maternity , toxoplasmosis is 54.6%,high positive test was (140 ) 28.9% and less than in 1160) 18% .Age group (23-28)years were more susaptable for infection 37.3% ,after that(17-22)years 28.9% and (29-34)years 21.6 %. The percentage of abortion among the infected women is 57.8% and the percentage of the congenital anomalsae is 9.8%

The incidence of Cryptosporidium parvum in children in Al -Zahra Hospital – Najaf

Present study was conducted at Al- Zahra Hospital for childbirth and children in the province of Najaf for the period from December / 2010 to December / 2011, which aims to determine the incidence of parasite spores cache C.parvum in children suffering from diarrhea reviewers in Al- Zahra Hospital - Najaf .
By examining (321) sample of children with diarrhea using modified acid fast staining method, found infection by parasite in (35) sample at a rate (10.9%), also revealed that the percentage of infected male high and was significantly more than it is female. Also shown that children aged (3-4) years are the most susceptible to the parasite and significant statistical difference compared with other age groups included in the study. And that the infection percentage of children who live in rural areas, the parasite is significantly higher than in those who live in the city. Also found that children who are the source of drinking water from untreated water (rivers and streams) were infected with the percentage of the parasite and was significantly higher than the percentage of infection to children who drink treated water (tap water). Results also indicated that the percentage of parasite infection in children with diarrhea and a more significant difference for infected children with the parasite and without diarrhea (control).

Evaluate the antagonistic activity of disinfectants prepared from extracts of bitter melon extract and some chemicals (alum and Peru hydrogen oxide) on the growth of bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from contamination hospitals

The study included the current isolate and diagnose the bacteria aeruginosa Pseudomonas cases of contamination of hospitals and assessment of the Antimicrobial Activity of disinfectants prepared from the extract of bitter melon and some chemicals ( alum and Peru oxide hydrogen ) on the growth of bacteria counts inhibitory concentration minimum and focus killer minimum factor phenolic diagnosed isolates of bacteria depending " on the characteristics of formal and Elms parish and biochemical number of isolates positive 18 isolates out of 100 collected from Eat surgeries and hospital corridors and different places Kala traumatic walls and captivating lighting sources and surgical instruments . tested the sensitivity of MRSA for some types of antibiotics and showed all the isolates were resistant absolute anti Amoxcillin, Tetracyclin and Nitrofutantion and Clindamycin.
      The test results (Phenol Coefficient) Tests showed that alum and Peru oxide hydrogen , both in private and Khalathma a significant impact compared with the concentrations of phenol used in this test. , And the results showed that the inhibitory concentration minimum was (30 % ) and lethal concentration minimum was 40% for each of the Handal and alum As for Peru was hydrogen oxide ( 5 %) (10%) , respectively, and a mixture of alum and Peru hydrogen oxide (10% Feb 0.2 % Peru oxide ) and ( 20% and 5% Feb Peru oxide ), respectively

• Impact of Toxoplasmosis on Nitric Oxide, Malondialdehyde, and Reduced Glutathione Levels in Seropositive Women

The current study was conducted to evaluate the impact of infection of women with toxoplasmosis on some biomarkers for oxidative stress that involve Nitric Oxide (NO), Malondialdehyde (MDA), and Reduced Glutathione (GSH) on Seropositive Women. Samples of blood were collected from 336 women . The percentage of toxoplasma infection depending Enzyme- Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) to the antibodies IgG were 17.85%. The results showed that infection with toxoplasma causes significant elevation of nitric oxide, malondialdehyde. Aswell as the concentrations of reduced gluthanione were reduced between infected women when compared with control group.

The effect of aqueous extract of carnations on some bacterial isolates that cause inflammation of the gums

This study was conducted for the purpose of investigating the bacteria that cause gingivitis , as collected ( 200 ) swab the gums of patients auditors to Dental clinics specialized in the city of Diwaniya, and for the period from February 2011 until September 2011 , has also been conducting some tests microscopic Albayukimaawih for the purpose of isolating and diagnosing the bacteria that cause gingivitis .
During the study showed the presence of several types of bacteria isolated from the gums , namely:
Streptococcus mutans (% 18.51), Streptococcus pyogens (% 8.88)
Streptococcus salivarius (% 5.18), Streptococcus angiosus (% 5.19)
Streptococcus pneumoniae (% 3.70), Staphylococcus aureus (% 15.56)
Staphylococcus epidermidis (% 9.62), Escherichia coli (% 11.86)]
Klebsiella. Spp (% 8.89), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (% 6.67)
Pseudomonas monilli (% 3.70), Proteus spp (% 3.23)
Was also test the effect of aqueous extract of carnations on the bacterial isolates above turned out through testing that aqueous extracts of flowers, carnations effect of inhibitory to bacteria isolated showed concentration ( 100 mg / mL) highest impact inhibitory to the growth of bacteria note that the bacteria isolated from patients with periodontal were disproportionately sensitive to the anti- life :
Amikacin, ampicillin, tetracycline, gentamicin, chliromphenicol, nalidixic acid, amoxicillin, trimethoprim.

The results of the laboratory tests using screening clumping latex (LAT) and the presence of infection toxoplasmosis caused by the parasite Toxoplasma Alcondeh Toxoplasma gondii in birds used in the study and proportions injury Celsius different , as shown results of the examination immune system for 150 samples of sera local chicken that 49 samples were positive , and by C infection was 32.6 % , with the highest proportion of positive 34.7 % ( 17 samples ) within the focus 801, the lowest positive rate was 2% ( one sample ) within focus 201 . As for the results of the examination of sera bathroom home Tests showed the presence of 32 sample is positive and by wounding percentage stood at 24.6% , with the highest proportion of positive 34.4 % ( 11 samples ) within the Focus 3201 and the lowest positive rate is 3.1% rate of one sample within a concentration of 201 , while in the bathroom Ataiwrani was test results and the presence of serum sample is positive and 42 injured by a percentage amounted to 32.3% . Where the highest proportion of positive 38% by 16 sample concentration within 3201 while the lowest positive rate was 4.76% by 2 concentration within the sample 201 . Been confirmed infection of poultry parasite Toxoplasma Alcondeh through the use of technology interaction chain polymers (PCR), as it has been detected gene B1 with a molecular weight (Pb325) your parasite Toxoplasma Alcondeh in 6 samples of a total of 24 samples taken at random and were incidence of 25% . The results of the current study also plays a major role in the transfer of poultry infection toxoplasmosis to humans as one of the diseases common to humans and animals and through the identification of the gene for the parasite in Msolha .
      The current study and identify the gene B1 (Pb325) your parasite using the PCR technique is the first in Iraq about the parasite Toxoplasma Alcondeh in pigeons .

Isolate and diagnose the bacteria contaminated lobbies for burns in the province of Najaf

The results of microbial isolation revealed that Pseudomonas aeruginosa was comprising 33% which was the highest percentage in comparison with other bacterial isolates, while Peudomonas fluorescence 16%, Klebsiella spp. 12%, Saphylococcus aureus 12%, the total number of collected bacteria was 70 isolates that have been isolated from patients, beds, bathrooms, and floors. The results of antibiotic susceptibility test showed that Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the most resistant exhibiting resistance against all antibiotics used, while Saphylococcus aureus appeared low resistance followed by Klebsiella spp.

The study aimed to Achtbarkamih carbohydrates and proteins in the seeds of beans insecticide treatment Beltanol and fungus resistance to bio- T.harzianum Albaqlaealkhmsh local cultivars ( 1, 2 and 3) and the product was Syrian and Spanish and planted in the field . They found that the highest proportion of carbohydrates appeared in the control treatment for the Spanish class , reaching 65.724 % , while the lowest proportions of carbohydrates appeared in the treatment of fungus T.harzianum reaching 59.995 % of the local class (3) , compared to control treatment , reaching 62.575 % . They found that the highest proportion of proteins appeared in the treatment of fungus T.harzianum for Spanish class , reaching 28.184 % ' either lower proportion of proteins amounted to 18.592 % in the control treatment of the local second class .

This experiment was carried out during the agricultural season (2009) -(2010) in the agricultural unit related to theUniversity of Kufa ,to AL-Nagaf AL-Ashraf gov. to lavestigate effect of magnetized water and CPPU( KT-30) in vegetative &flowering characters of Calendula officinalis L. The experiment was established as factorial experiment in two factors ,the first factor was the type of irrigated water in two levels :regular water(control) and irrigated with magnetized water ,the second factor was the growth regulater KT-30 in four concentrations (0,4,8,16)mg/L,according to Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three replications , the experimental unit contained five plants ,the means were compared according to L.S.D. The results revealed that :plants irrigated by magnetized water gave significant increasing in vegetative growth characters included: plant height , number of branches /plant ,leaves number ,leaf area &dry weight of shoots :50.90 cm, 288.25, 72.12, 1616.6cm2 & 19.16 gm respectively. Also an increasing in flowering growth characters included: increase in flowers number,flower diameter,petals number & the dry weight of flowers,the results were:79.94, 6.74 cm, 101.35, 0.86 gm , respectively, and cause delaying of flowering .
The plants which were treated with KT-30 showed significally increasing on vegetative criteria,such as plant height , number of branches/plant , leaves number, leaf area&dry weight of vegetative growth (54.91cm,78.02, 293.04 , 1558.7 cm2 & 19.77 gm) respectively. Moreover treatments caused an increasing in flowering characters such as, number of flowers, flower diameter,petals number,flowers dry weight, flowering date(80.86,8.57 cm, 100.85, 0.91 gm& 87.76) respectively.

Effects of Paclobutrazol and Bio-Formulation of Bacillus subtilis on Growth of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don

An experiment aimed to determine the effect of paclobutrazol and the bio-formulation of Bacillus subtilis on the growth characteristics of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don.Field experiment was performed under wood canopy in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department, College of Agriculture, Kufa University, during 2010 – 2011. A factorial experiment (two factors) according to Randomized Complete Block Design ( RCBD).Seeds were inoculated with different concentrations of bio-formulation (0, 10, 15, 20 g/ Kg seeds). Then, after 2 months , plants were sprayed with paclobutrazol at concentrations (0, 5, 10, 15 mg / L). Results show that paclobutrazol leads to decrease in the length of plants and leaf area but increase stem diameter and dry weights of leaves and shoot . The bio-formulation increases all the studied growth characteristics of the plant.The interactions between both paclobutrazol and bio-formulation lead also to a significant increase in the growth characteristics of Catharanthus roseus.

This study was conducted to estimate the activity of tomato debris on growth and sporelation of Al-Tahadi and Australian isolates of Trichoderma harzianum and pathogenic fungus Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.lycopersici . The study showed the concentration 30% of sterilized extract of Tomato debris by using the Millipore filter (0.22mm) was the highest effect on growth of Al-Tahadi and Australian isolates of T. harizanum and Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.lycopersici whereas the average of the growth colony diameter after 72 hour was 4.7 ,4.5 and 3.4 cm respectively compared by 8.5,8.5 and 6.5 cm with the growth on P.D.A. only respectively. Results showed also that the concentration 30 % of sterilized extracts tomato debris with Millipore filter decreased the spore germaination to 0.3, 0.2 and 0.04 ×106 CFU in Al- Tahdi and Australinan isolates of T. harizanium and F. oxysporium f.sp.lycopersici after 72 hour of growth respectively compared with 1.02 ,0.92 and 0.33×104 CFU the control treatment respectively. ....................................... .

A study of the relationship between anemia and Erythropoietin hormone in patients with Chronic renal Failure in the Holy Governorate of Najaf

The main aim of the research was to study the effect of erythropoietin excreted by the kidney in hematology and biochemical criteria related directly to anemia in patients with chronic kidney failure , undergoing hemodialysis therapy conducted in the artificial kidney departments in both Al-hakim & Sadr Hospital in Najaf City , starting on the first of August 2011 till the end of February 2012 .The study included (94) people of both sexes filling into two groups: The first group: consisted of (70) patients with chronic kidney failure , The control group consisted of (24) persons never suffered any kidney illness ,The two groups were compared Generally and then according to the sex , age and duration hemodialysis of therapy . Statistical analysis of results revealed that there was a significant decrement (P <0.05) in erythropoietin in patient with chronic kidney failure when compared with the control group , There were also significantly decreased (P <0.05) in the hemoglobin(HB) , pocket cell volumes (PCV) , total count of red blood cells (RBC) and total count of platelets when compared with control group

Effect of natural bee honey in the healing of cutaneous wounds infected Pseudomonas aeruginosa with in white rats

The present study was conducted at the Department of Biology in the College of Education for Girls - University of Kufa / Najaf for the period from November 2010 until December 2011 and aims to study the effec of natural bee honey dressing in skin wound flammation in the wounded white rats , infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosta and compared with the gentamycin dressing In vivo. The results of microscopic examination of wounded skin tissue in the white rat groups infected with P. aeruginosa and treatment with natural honey dressing showed severe infiltration of the cells neutrophil cells, especially on the first day of a wound compared to other groups of control and gentamycin, and notes that the number of neutrophil cells, has decreased in the coming days of treatment and completely disappeared in the 14th day of treatment with natural honey dressing.
Also observed an increase in the number of macrophages on the 7th day of treatment with natural honey dressing .When counting macrophages observed the existence of significant differences between groups of control and gentamycin and the groups of rats treated with natural honey dressing on the 7th day and the macrophages population is large and significant in the groups treated with natural honey dressing , especially on the 14th day. Also seemed formation of blood and lymphatic vessels on the 7th day, while the composition was heavily in 21st of treatment with natural honey dressing. and highly significant than control and gentamycin groups .The results showed that the growth of collagen fibers appeared on the 7th day and was more pronounced and significantly and moral on the 14th and 21st day of treatment with natural honey dressing, compared with the gentamycin and control groups.

This Study was conducted on The pigeons Columba livia to evaluate the starvation effect on the biochemical and blood functional parameter in pigeons infected with Cestoda Aporina delafondi . 120 pigeons raised in the animal house of biology department in the College of Education for Women . The result revealed asignificant decrease in RBC , Hb , PCV , Glucose , Protein and Albumin concentration in all infected groups exposed to starvation comparing with control or non fasting group , while there is significant increase in WBC count in all infected and starved groups comparing with control or non fasting group.

Effect of uranyl nitrate on some kidney function and some biochemical parameters in male rats eggs

       Measuring levels of urea and creatinine in serum and measurement Trkizalbrootin total albumin and Alklopeulen in the blood serum. Has results showed a rise morally (P <0.05) in the rates of the levels of urea and creatinine in the blood serum of a group treatment nitrate uranyl , as well as get a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in the rate of total Trakizalbrootin and Alklopeulen albumin and serum in the treatment group compared with the control group animals that were given plain drinking water .

Surfaces and colors influencing larval settlement and groth of barnacle Balanus amphitrite Darwen (Cirripedia: Thoracica)

Influence of surface on the settlement and grow of cyprid larvae of barnacles Balanus amphitrite was studied for the period from July to September by using three types of surface plats: Iron, frosted wood and glass. The result was revealed high average of settlement on Iron then glass while less average of settlement on frosted wood. Also studied the influence of surface color on the settlement of cyprid larvae by using panels of painted surface, above mentioned, six different color: Black, Red, Blow, Green, yellow and white. The results showed discrimination cyprid larvae the difference between dark and light, thus confirming the negative phototaxis in larval settlement. Recording the highest average of settlement on glass and Iron plats painted with black color 345, 116 respectively. While lowest settlement on glass and Iron plats painted with green color 8, 5. While highest average of settlement on frosted wood painted with yellow color 131 and lowest average of settlement on frosted wood painted with white color 2.

Anti pregnant effect of ethyl alcohol and ethyl acetate extract of aloe Vera in female albino mice

This study was included using (72) of Swiss female albino mice . the aim of this study to search the biological activity of alcoholic and acetate ethyl extract of aloe Vera as contraceptive roles.These female were divided into three groups and treated with concentrations (125,250 mg/kg) for three periods 4,8,12 days.The results of this study was revealed that
A significant increase in the total body weight in term of female mice that treated with ethyl acetate only comparing with control group while there is no significant change occurs in the total body weight in term of female mice that treated by ethyl alcohol .
A significant decrease in the weight of ovaries and in the weight of uterus of female mice that treated by both two concentrations of ethyl acetate and ethyl alcohol extract comparing with control group and the ethyl acetate produces higher activity in decrease weight of ovaries and increase weight of uteruses as comparing with ethyl alcohol extract.
The histological study was showed a significant decrease in diameters of ovaries and numbers of primary and secondary ovarian follicles an numbers and diameters of Graffian follicles of female mice that treated with two concentrations of ethyl acetate and ethyl alcohol extract comparing with control group.

Increased improvement fertilization capacity to Intrauterine insemination and Intracytoplasmic sperm injection of Infertile Patients Suffering from severe Asthenospermia by using Ferticult Flushing Medium

This study was included examination and activation of 45 samples for asthenozoospermic men.The research was aimed to improvement of infertility capacity and activation sperm parameters in vitro by using FertiCult flushing medium ,three techniques (swim up-centrifugation wash-out-mixing after washing and centrifugation).The result was revealed significant increase (p<0.05) of sperm motility percent ,grade of sperm activatiy and sperm motility index so significant decrease (p<0.05) of sperm concentration ,non normal sperm morphology percent and leukocytes concentration after using the medium and swim up in 60 min . In ICSI programs by using the culture medium and centrifugation and swim up technigue with incubation period (45 min.), the results were showed a significant increase (P<0.05) of sperm motility percent, grade of sperm activity , sperm motility index and normal sperm percent so it revealed significant decrease (P<0.05) of sperm concentration and leucolyte concentration in comparison to that of before activation and after activation incubation periods are 5 - 30 min. In conclusion,the FertiCult flushing medium influence of the result after activation and increase of improvement the chance in vitro fertilization.

Application of Tissue Microarray Technology to detect expression of Ki-67 in breast carcinoma patients

Breast cancer is the most common cancer of women worldwide. It is a heterogeneous disease. The incidence rate of this disease increased in the last years in Iraq. The current study was conducted to study the immunohistochemical for the breast tumors by using tissue microarray (TMA) technique. The mean age of the Iraqi breast cancer patients in our study was (50.32±11.85) years old; ranging from 23-80 years old.Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples were used in this study. Two TMAs recipient blocks were designed and constructed for samples.Both two TMAs contain 30 samples of Iraqi breast cancer patients and normal kidney tissue for control. Each donor sample were represented in duplicate, cores were transferred from each donor patient sample to the recipient block, sections from the sample slides cutting and potted on charge slide then stained these sections with hematoxylin and Eosin (H and E) stained then immunohistochemically (IHC) studied for Ki-67 for the TMAs.
The results showed that 35 out of 60 cases was positive expression for Ki-67, and the most cases were grade II for expression all of Ki-67. While results of positive lymph node status were found in 19 cases out of 35 was positive expression for Ki-67. The study revealed that there was a significant relationship between the Ki-67 and histological grade and lymph node status. The results indicated that the Iraqi breast cancer cases used in this study were phonotypical more aggressive. We utilized TMA sections for the validation of the Ki-67. In conclusion, TMA was successfully used as a rapid, economic and effective method for IHC studies.

Study of physicochemical and kinetics features of peroxidase isolated fromhoary cress (Cardaria draba L.)

Peroxidase was purified from roots by ammonium sulfate, dialysis and Sephadex G-100 gel filtration, showed final degree of purity and recovery 2.70 and 54.11% respectively. Molecular mass, optimum of pH, temperature and time of enzymatic reaction were 56.234 kDa, 6.5, 40oC, 3 min. respectively. Km and Vmax were estimated of each substrate (guaiacol and hydrogen peroxide), noticed high affinity to hydrogen peroxide. Competitive sodium azide inhibitor was suppressed peroxidase totally at 90 mM.

The Prevalence of CutaneousTricophyton Spp in Patients with Skin Mycosis in Babylon Province

Background: Trichophyton is a keratinophilic filamentous fungus which has the ability to invade keratinized tissues thus; it is considered as one of the leading causes of hair, skin, and nail infections in humans. Most of the Trichophyton species have teleomorphic forms and these teleomorphs are classified under genus Arthroderma
Obgective: The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of Tricophyton spp.infection among patients with skin mycosis in Alhella, the center of Babylon Province.
Subject and Methods: During the period from Oct. /2010 to May. /2011, a total of 972 specimens (Skin scraping and nail were collected from patients attending the out-patient clinic for dermatology and venereal diseases in Babylon General Hospital. Direct microscopical examination and culture were done for specimens. Identification of Tricophyton spp. based on standard cultural and biochemical criteria. All data were statistically analyzed according to Chi-Square and Kolmogrov-smirnovz (P<0.05).
Resuls:The results revealed that 753 (77.5%) patients were clinically and laboratory confirmed as having skin mycosis, 197 (26.2%) of them have Tricophyton infection.The prevalence of Tricophyton infection was significantly higher in folded skin 124(62.9) compared to other body sites and in females compared to males (66.5% vs. 33.5%). Additionally, the highest prevalence was recorded in 12-21 years age group, and there was non-significant difference in the infection rate regarding the residence.
Conclusion: Tricophyton constitutes about one quarter of skin mycoses infections in Babylon Province, so must raise awareness of health and increase health education among people and make them be known of the diseases which are caused by fungi and their danger, and the importance of diagnosing them as early as possible and to treat them and control their spread ,make independent units in the hospital Laboratory to diagnose the fungal diseases and send specialized medical groups to the endemic areas with the fungal diseases.

Antibiotic Sensitivity profile of bacteria isolated from wounds and skin infections

The choice of antibiotic is usually based on previously published susceptibility testing and previous s clinical success. Anaerobic bacteria are important because they dominate the diagnose flora. Some of these infections are serious and have high mortality rate. It has to be paid more attention to anaerobic infections because special precautions are needed for appropriate collection and transport of specimens.Aim of the study: To study the sensitivity profile of bacterial strains isolated from several types of infected skin and wounds toward several antibiotics. Methods: The study included 98 strains isolated from 150 patients with skin and wound infections patients hospitalized into Al-Diwanya teaching hospital from January 2009 to January 2010. A total of 150 samples were selected from patients with skin and wounds Infections including samples of burn wounds, cutaneous ulcer, surgical wounds, acnes and pustules . For the disc diffusion testing: ampicillin, gentamicin, amikacin, cefuroxime, cefoperazone, ciprofloxacin, piperacillin, Erythromycin, Cloxacillin, ceftriaxone, ceftazidime, Amoxicillin, Rifampin, Metronidazole, clindamycin, Ceftazidim, penicillinV, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazol and amoxicillin _ clavulanic acid, disc were used.

Results: In our research, we examined 150 specimens. Aerobic bacteria were recovered from 48 (32%) specimens, anaerobic bacteria only were recovered from 27 (18%) specimens, and mixed aerobic and anaerobic bacteria were recovered from 75 (50%) specimens. Ciprofloxacin was highly active drug that could eradicate the major pathogens bacteria from skin and wounds infection. Although metronidazole has relatively poor efficacy by itself, in combination with penicillin V the susceptibility of the bacteria in this study was virtually the same as amoxicillin.

Conclusions: Ciprofloxacin seems to remain the antibiotic of choice because of its efficacy in polymicrobial infections, relatively narrow spectrum for bacteria found in skin and wounds infections, low toxicity
, and low cost.

Control of inflorescence rot of date palm by low rate trunk injection with Difenoconazole in a large scale field trial

This work was carried out in Kut Province, 250 km south east of Baghdad, Iraq during 2004-2005-2006 in highly infested plantations. Incidence of disease was recorded in 5136 date palms of many varieties growing in 30 orchards and disease incidence in some varieties was estimated on Feb., 2004. The fungicide Score 250 EC (Difenoconazole) was injected in trunks of palms (n=1386) in low rates (1.2 , 1.5 or 1.7 ml/palm mixed with 50 ml water) during Dec.,2005 – Jan.,2006. Incidence and severity of disease in treated palms were recorded on April, 2006. Results showed that all date palm varieties were susceptible with disease incidence ranged between 48.6 % (var. Zehdi) to 90.6 % (var. Braim) with a mean of 75.5 % , treatment with the fungicide reduced the mean of disease incidence from 75.5 % in untreated palms to 11.7 % with mean control efficacy of 83.9 %. Incidence of disease was reduced by fungicide application (1.7 ml/palm) from 90.6 % in untreated palms to 5.7 % with control efficacy of 93.7 %. These results permit recommendation an effective control of inflorescence rot of date palm by low rate (1.7 ml/palm) trunk injection of the fungicide Score 250 EC a systemic fungicide with high IPM fitness. Injection of fungicide in trees extremely minimizes pollution consequences associated with traditional chemical control applications.

4)concentrations from CFSs ofLactobacillus plantarum and standard concentration to Calcium propionate were taken to study their inhibite activity against pathogenic bacteria Bacillus cereus .MIC,MBC assay was studied to choose the inhibited concentration used in colony counter method for B. cereus in cheeseand compared with calcium propionate concentration .Results in our study refered to high activity for all these concentrations more than calcium propionate with clearly significant deferences ,and when used MIC the effect was too much higher than calcium propionate in decreesing the survival cells of Bcereus in cheese..

Three cestodes parasites were isolated from the small intestine of the white cheeked bulbul . These were ; Raillietine tetragona . Allohymenolepis sp. and Multiuterina sp. These cestodes are first records of their presence in the bulbul , and the last two are new to Iraq . A.R. tetragona was the most common cestode parasite of the bulbul and occurred in good numbers throughout the year . The percentage infection of the bulbuls by this parasite varied between 13% in winter and 20% in autumn . The other two cestodes were few in numbers and their percentage occurrence was less than 2% throughout the year .

Effect of different doses of ferrous sulfate drug on some haematological parameters in male albino rat

The study was designed to investigate the effect of different doses and different durations of ferrous sulfate drug administration on some blood criteria, using 48 males of albino rats. The animals were divided into four main groups (12 males for each group), the first group control and the other three groups were orally intragastric administrated with (50,75,100) mg/kg bw for three periods (4,6,8) weeks .The blood samples were collected to measure the haematological criteria that include Red Blood Cells count (RBCs) , blood haemoglobine (Hb),Packed Cell Volume(PCV),Mean Corpuscle Haemoglobine Concentration (MCHC), Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobine (MCH) and Mean Corpuscle Volume (MCV).
Results of this study revealed , that ferrous sulfate administration causes a significant elevation for all haematological parameters which proportionally increased with the dosage levels and dosage durations. It was also observed a significant effect of interaction between different doses and periods on most haematological parameters except MCH and MCHC. All results compared with control group and between treated groups.
The results suggested that the administration of ferrous sulfate drug in high dosing level and long durations may causes defect in haemopoesis especially erythropoiesis that indicated by increased blood parameters level rather than treatment of iron deficiency anemia because of iron supply increase.

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus is an autoimmune disease characterized by absolute insulin deficiency resulting destruction of islet beta cells. T1DM is frequently associated with autoimmune thyroid disease.
We have therefore investigated the prevalence of anti-thyroid peroxidase(anti-TPO) & anti-thyroglobulin (anti-Tg) antibodies in type 1 diabetic patients, and screened anti-thyroid antibodies and TSH, T3, & T4 levels, and to study the level of lipid profile in type 1 diabetic patients and its relation to anti-thyroid antibodies(anti-TPO & anti-Tg) .
Ninety subjects with type 1 diabetes mellitus and thirty healthy as controls non-diabetics under the age of thirty years.
Blood samples were taken for investigation of thyroid function test by using Vitek Immune Diagnostic Assay System(VIDAS). Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay(ELISA) test to detect anti-thyroid antibodies(TPO & Tg).
Among 90 type 1diabetic patients 20(22.2%) were positive for anti-TPO and 7(7.7%) were positive for anti-Tg. There was a statistically no significant correlation between the levels of (anti-TPO & anti-Tg) and gender in type 1 diabetic patients (P value>0.820 and P value>0.972), respectively. Also we found another negative ( P value>0.05) correlation between (anti-TPO & anti-Tg) with age. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between TSH and (anti-TPO & anti-Tg) antibodies levels in type 1 diabetic patients( P value<0.05) at the same time was negative correlation between (T3& T4) levels and (anti-TPO & anti-Tg) levels, but statistically not significant( P value>0.05). on the other hand we found statistically significant negative ( P value>0.05) correlation between (anti-TPO & anti-Tg) levels and lipid profile levels in type 1 diabetic patients. Finally, the present study showed that there was statistically significant correlation between (anti-TPO) antibodies level and (anti-Tg) antibodies level ( P value<0.021).

Study the Interaction between Prolactin Hormone and some Organotellurium Compounds.

In the present study , three organotellurium compounds have been prepared by a simplified methods. These compounds include; diphenyl ditelluride (compound1), Bis(p-methoxy phenyl) ditelluride (compound3), and p-methoxy phenyl tellurium trichloride (compound2). These compounds have been prepared from reaction TeCl4 as starting material with some ethers in different solvents. All these organotellurium compounds were characterized the well-known methods including: FTIR, UV-Visible spectrophotometry, CHN analysis, melting point and H1NMR spectroscopy.
The study of prolactine hormone adsorption on the surface of these compounds showed that the equilibrium time of adsorption was between 30-60 minutes. Prolactin concentrations were followed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. Tellurium compounds extract good amounts of prolactin from solution on their surfaces and the differences between the absorbed quantities are small. All absorption process curve were of S-shaped according to Gills classification. The adsorption isotherm studies showed that most Te compounds obeyed Frundlish equation isotherm indicating the heterogeneity of the energy of the active sites on the organotellurium compounds surface. Desorption studies show a low desorption percentage, which indicates a strong association between Prolactin and organotellurium compounds.
These properties can be used to immobilize proteins on the surfaces of these compounds as a useful tool in the biochemical researches or in the extraction processes of minute amounts of important proteins from the biological fluids.

Receiver operator characteristics and diagnostic value of CA-125, progesterone, estradiol and β-hCG in the prediction of ectopic and abortive intrauterine gestations

Objective: The study was designed to investigate the predictive value of CA-125, progesterone, estradiol and β-hCG in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy (EP) and inevitable miscarriage. Methods: Forty women with EP, 17 with intrauterine (IU) abortive gestation and 24 regular pregnant women (controls) were studied. : Serum levels of CA-125, progesterone, estradiol and ß-HCG were measured by Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) techniques in 40 symptomatic women with ectopic pregnancy, 17 with intrauterine (IU) abortive gestation and 24 regular pregnant women (controls) during gestational age between (4-12) weeks at Al-Kadhmiya Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq, between November 2010 and June 2011. Results: Women with EP had significantly lower CA-125, progesterone, estradiol and ß-HCG concentrations, compared to both women with IU abortive pregnancy and controls. When using CA-125 concentration of 25.5 U/ml as a threshold for the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, sensitivity was 75.7%, specificity 100%, the positive predictive value was 100% and the negative predictive value 71.4%. When using a progesterone concentration of 5 ng/ml as a cut-point for the diagnosis of EP, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values were 86.8%, 100%, 100%, 80%, respectively. Conclusion: These results by using ROC curves. The measurement of CA-125 and progesterone levels is useful in discriminating ectopic and intrauterine abortive from normal gestations.

In the present study serum trace element including Cupper (Cu), Iron (Fe) ,and Zinc (Zn) ,where determine by using atomic absorption in sera of patient with viral hepatitis (B)cases (n=40) and statistically compared with controls (n=20). The results showed that , in viral hepatitis Cu level where found as 1.5+/-0.29 ppm and this value was significantly higher than in control group1.0+/- 0.15 ppm (p<0.05), Zn level found to be significantly low in viral hepatitis patients0.56+/-0.09 ppm where in healthy individual was 0.87+/-0.07 ppm (p<0.05) . There is no significantly difference between hepatitis patients and controls in serum Fe level (1.21+/-0.2, 1.27+/-0.34) ppm (p<0.05) respectively.. It was indicated that absorption disorders in gastrointestinal system, especially in chronic cases, were not main causes of decrease of trace elements by iron and several other parameters in sera of the cases. Therefore, it is suggested that the decrease in Zn level and elevation in Cu levels are probably resulted from defense strategies of organism and induced by the hormone-like substances.

Histological investigation of the cells in colon one humped camel (Camelus dromedarius)

The aim of this investigation is to determine the most of the cells in colon, and the main salient differences of the layers and a tunic which was addressed here not all. The colon was characterized by a delicate lining that is moisturized by mucus and also by a gel that is a byproduct of bacterial fermentation. This study was performed in three health camels which contain a different segments of the colon (proximal anza, centripetal, centrifugal, and distal anza), rectum and anus were histologically examined. The epithelium facing the lumen of the colon is covered with openings of tubular intestinal glands that penetrate deep into the thick mucosa. The glands consist of absorptive cells that absorb water and goblet cells that secrete mucus. In addition, the scattered Paneth cells were observed which given a role in regulation of normal bacterial flora of the small intestine.

Synthesis And Characterization Of New Imidazole derivatives

The synthesized compounds were elucidated using some spectral data: FTIR,1HNMR.

Alatherl effect of concentrations and temperatures on ripening apples Malus domestica Class ludai

Four concentrations of Ethrel (2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid),(0,200,400,600 )were used for ripening of Malus domestica cultivar ludai at two temperatures ( 10,20) oc ,for three period (6,12,18) days . It was found that the concentration 400 ppm of Ethrel at temperature 10 oc for 12 days to reduce the percentage of weight loss ,fruit decay and TSS which improved the fruit marketing and consumption . This concentration also increased the TSS percentage, reduced the fruit acidity significantly to reach to acceptable flavor, and tested .the concentration 200ppm at temperature 20 oc for 6 days also gave good results that was approximate to the recommended concentration.
